ARDEN HILLS: I-35W & County Rd. D. - Troopers are on a traffic stop with a man after driving the wrong-way on I-35W. Callers initially reported the wrong-way driver near I-694. Dispatchers were able to follow the car on traffic cameras until troopers were able to make a traffic stop in a parking lot of a business.

Tow truck vs. citizen! This tow truck driver has a car hooked up and is driving away. The problem is, the owner runs after it and jumps in. He’s pressing the brakes and causing a scene. So the question is: Should the tow truck driver have stopped the second the owner got into the towed car? I wonder what the law says about this, but I imagine it would say yes.

It is even weird to me to see a car driving with no humans on San Francisco freeways. People forget that I had the first video of a Waymo 15 years ago. Well, back then it was a Google R&D car. In fact it was the first video of any autonomous vehicle on public roads in the world posted on YouTube. Back then there were four people in the car so I didn’t realize it was a self-driving car. In fact it took six more months for anyone to figure out that Google was doing R&D on the freeways here. I shot this from my Tesla on the way to tonight’s big AI party in San Francisco. My Tesla was self-driving too, but can’t yet drive without a human in the car. With human=supervised. Without human=unsupervised. I will link to the original video in replies.

Pune has a chronic behavioral problem of driving on the wrong side of the road. I got time to edit the video to my daily route today. In this 3 min video you will see gig works, women, school vans, dumpsters, auto mafias, cyclists, bikers, almost every niche driving on the wrong side. No fear whatsoever. You will see me honking as well to grab their attention because car owners like me will be blamed first if something happens. And with ADAS level 2 it is more riskier because car can sudden brake anytime and the vehicle behind me will cause more damage. We need a revolution for this. Maybe they are driving on wrong side due to long u turns? or to save some fuel or to save time or out of habit or maybe because all of it but no one is there to keep a check on them. No cameras no police no volunteers nothing. And this is non traffic hours. You can imagine 6-8pm traffic with high beams on the wrong side on a state highway.

My take on this is I don’t feel unlicensed teens on E-bikes should be allowed to ride in the streets with oncoming traffic. I see a group of kids blocking the lanes for cars, it was only a matter of time before someone was hurt. These kids were riding in one lane and weaving into another, when this car tried to pass them it looked like one of the riders got too close and tried to swerve and fell. Then the ringleader of the group rides up and damages the car. I think that events like this is why lose drivers despise E-bike riders. The kid filming who damaged the car took down the plate number of the car and wanted them to pay for the damage to the bike that was damaged. I don’t think the car is liable for that. If anything I feel the kids are liable for the damage to the car, who do you feel is at fault here?
