We have 20 year old Tommy. He does the same. He visits the gardens with their tiny houses in our 'garden park'. We don't want to think about him leaving the earth plane 😥
There’s a book about a cat like this called “Six Dinner Sid” that our kids read when they were younger. It’s not an unknown phenomenon.

sweet story. sweet ginger boy. he kept his community's homes/families happy. couldn't have asked for a better feline friend.😍
We had lovely ginger and white called Kirby. Loved watching people, hated being petted. He would visit everyone in our area, happily sit himself in their living room, move on when he wanted. His name travelled by word of mouth with him. Fun meeting strangers who knew him by name.
