This CCTV clip completely changes the narrative from the official RTI statement. You can see a white SUV making heavy contact with the bakkie. While the bakkie is being crushed against the barrier in the Eastbound lane, the white SUV does not stop. It maintains its momentum, maneuvers away... from the wreckage, and accelerates Westbound (towards Pietermaritzburg). This directly contradicts the RTI's early claim that the bakkie just lost control. If the SUV hit the bakkie from behind or the side and then fled, the SUV is the primary cause of the accident. MEC Duma’s statement likely relied on the truck driver’s perspective. All the driver saw was a bakkie flying into his lane. He wouldn't have seen the SUV pushing it from the other side of the median. Because the SUV fled the scene, it wasn't there when RTI arrived to take statements.show more

I read about this awhile back, but this is the first time I've seen the actual footage. The officer was fired after this. Pulls over a guy driving a white car, but the suspect flees. The officer begins pursuit, but gets confused and ends up chasing the WRONG VEHICLE (white SUV). He does a PIT maneuver on the SUV, and pulls his gun on the very confused woman driving. It was a whole debacle.

I've made a comparison of two videos. The video on the left is deceptively edited and does now show the driver of the black SUV, the video on the right is the full video where you can see the black SUV stopped and waiting for the DHS agent to back up and turn around. As soon as the agent moves forward, she speeds up and attempts to pass on the right. It's illegal to pass on the right in a single lane street. In my opinion this is 100% the fault of Dayanne Figueroa, the driver of the black SUV. She deserved getting arrested too. I'm so fed up with these people committing crimes and the people and fake news media who edit the videos to push a bs narrative.
