Well, they didn't allow the local consumers to taste their good productions. But they exported everything for a premium. In other Countries, they always give the priorities to their own people the best to try and promote by word of mouth....

But the Sri Lanka tea estate workers' salary is USD 5.6 only oer day.. and for the last 100 years, their living standards have not improved
