When someone is in an intense emotional state, it's actually the worst time to make a decision, yet that’s when people often act. Maybe this person had a severe mental health issue. I’ve struggled with BPD since I was a teen and have had my fair share of impulsive moments (like road rage). For people like us, everything feels turned up to 100. I don’t know this person’s story, but my guess is it was a split-second, emotionally driven reaction where all logical thinking went out the window.
