This Sami Zayn promo was so good man. Listen I know people are going to be pissed about Sami potentially losing the WWE title but I feel like it’s going to make him one of the most compelling heels on SmackDown since KO in 2024-2025 The fact he won the title the right way without having to change, finally accomplishing his dream of being WWE champion just for him to have it all taken away from him by Cody is the perfect set up for a full heel turn with him costing Cody at SummerSlam. It could be one of the best non title feuds WWE has had since Drew/Punk imo. As for Cody I would love to see his character go through a lot of adversity racking up losses against Sami, Randy and even Gunther. The canonization of his addiction to the WWE title is exactly why him losing will be so pivotal to his character. It’ll force him to get desperate and become something he never wanted to in order to be WWE champion again.

Financially irresponsible smash player Cody Schwab crashes out over fellow community member Mono criticizing him for his constant negativity regarding the community, his frequent belittlement of his fellow competitors, and his extremely inconsistent and public claims about his financial situation. After some back and forth with Mono, Cody doubles down on the negativity, stating that Collision was a joke of a tournament, and calling his fellow top players "shit at the game" before stating that they are coddled by the community. After Cody cites his poor financial situation as the reason to why he couldn't attend Collision, Mono brings up Cody's recent contradiction to this claim, in which Cody explicitly stated that he was not "broke." To clarify… my son was disappointed in Cody vs Jacob because he’s 11 year old and still believes in Kayfabe, sorta.. but still…. He doesn’t understand the brawl is too advanced storylines for later… He just was looking forward to seeing one of his heroes, Cody… Wrestle an actual match… Hit the Cross Rhodes… Etc… The brawl did come close to us… which made him happy!

I really liked how Sami Zayn set up his road for the World Title by saying that his son can't understand why everyone around his dad was World Champion and he can't achieve it. Simple but effective. Took him 2 minutes to get people invested in the story. Good stuff.
