James Talarico speaks like the Antichrist. Saying God is nonbinary. Saying there are six biological sexes. Saying the trans community needs abortion care. Saying the Blessed Mother Mary accepting God’s will to bear the Son of God in her womb justifies murdering children in the womb. Texans, don’t be fooled by his boy-next-door look. Can someone explain to me how it’s “Islamophobic” to be deeply alarmed by this? I’m not quoting critics of Islam. I’m not “misinterpreting” texts. I’m literally listening to Muslims themselves clearly affirm that, in an ideal Islamic state, apostates should be executed and that blasphemy deserves death as well. If that truly reflects their theology and their model society, why is fear considered irrational or bigoted? It isn’t hatred of Muslims to say this is terrifying, it’s a sober response to what the doctrine itself demands. In a Christian ideal society, people are free to believe or not believe. Violence is not the enforcement tool of orthodoxy. The highest moral expression is love, not compulsion. So why is it wrong to say that people have a legitimate reason to be afraid of a system that openly sanctions death for disbelief or criticism?
