Soure Golestani, the mother of Mehrab Golestani, shared this video on her Instagram and wrote: “Forty days have passed. When my dear aunt gave me this dress, according to tradition, to help me step out of mourning, I said no. Don’t ask this of me. I will mourn forever. But I had forgotten my vow. I had made a promise to love, to care, to live in place of my Mehrab, to live. So I pushed aside the needs of my mind and body. It was hard. But my world now needs my high energy. It needs light. So I stood up. Aunts, uncles, dear people of Iran, do not forget. We made a promise. We will continue. Not only for my son, but for all the children of Iran” Mehrab Golestani, a 17-year-old student, was shot with live ammunition on January 9 in Isfahan. He later died in the hospital due to the lack of blood available for transfusion. #IranMassacre
