Harry And Petunia's Final Chat Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Deleted Scene

Sadly, the music ruins the whole scene

Pretty sure if it was added, we wouldn’t be worried about the music. Would’ve been changed or something.

Yes I know this scene and I know its not in the original. Should have mentioned that to avoid misunderstandings :)

Worst editing decision in cinema history to cut this out, it's absolutely fucking criminal.

We didn’t protest hard enough 😅

There is a scene like this in the book.

Yeah. That’s accurate.

The fact that they had to cut it made absolutely no sense. This was closure of some sort. This also showed that his cousin didn't actually hate him. If circumstances were different, he and Harry would have been great pals.

Why did Harry call him Big D like that?

You’re reading extra meaning into it 😭😭😭

What is more gutting is that they removed scene with aunt Petunia where she tells "You didnt just lose your mother that day, i lost a sister"

Agreed. It was in the book, I think

Yeah right. It was in the book.

So touching after the history Harry and Dudley had when Harry’s aunt and uncle took him in as an infant!

I mean this scene was accurate as the books.

This scene exists in the book. A real shame they cut it from the film since it adds so much to Dudley's character.

they should release a version with all the deleted scenes added in

I doubt that will ever happen. lol

Fixing his relationship with Dudley and aunt Petunia was so significant on the books, along with snape past, Voldemort origins, and Draco's change of heart. Instead they decided to fill an entire movie with the kids roaming around some woods and love gossip.

See, its things like this that I am expecting for the HBO series to REDEEM the movie for. Like don't get me wrong, casting and all the other things is an issue. BUT if it can bring back content left out of movies, then that in itself is GOLD.

If you guys read the book ,you'll get it.They should've kept it. This scene has so much depth

That scene added so much depth—they really robbed us by cutting it 😭 Would’ve made the whole story hit even harder

Agreed, this one and the one with Petunia, where she says to him, "You didn't just lose a mother that night... I lost a sister". I know is not in the books, but would have brought closure.

And this one : "I lost a sister"....

Maybe it’s because it would have been somewhat confusing why the sudden change of heart. But I agree. It was an important moment and a good arch for Dudley.

most of these scenes wre added back on peacocks streaming site

They waited for years?

im sure theyre just "directors cuts" or something. some of them work but its clear why some scenes were removed.

Yeah true

maybe cut the big D line lol

They should also have never deleted this scene either

@jk_rowling We need a sequel to Harry Potter where Harry is a disgruntled magical detective trying to figure out the group that wants to expose magic to the rest of the world and Dudley has a daughter who turns out being able to do magic, and he has to confront his own childhood

I just realized that the snap of his finger was a reference to the chamber of secrets when Dobby had the floating cake drop on top of Mrs Mason😭😢🥺

It really shouldnt have been. It was an amazing scene. And super key in the books

The movies by and large made the right choices over what to keep and what to cut, but this was the one major, serious mistake. This scene should have been kept, and there also should have been a moment for Petunia's goodbye.

Damnn this had to be in the movie. A great closure

More like this and less ministry crap.

Like pretty much any movie based on a book, the book is better. Love this part of the book. I would love to see Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings filmed as they were written.

Such an important scene i think...shame they didnt add it in

They're great scenes (this and the one with aunt petunia) but they'd ruin the pacing of the opening if they were included, sadly.

The movies are a good watch but they utterly failed on 80 percent of the characters.

I didn’t know about this, and it’s kind of wholesome👀

It was in the book, a beautiful moment. Should have been in the movie for certain.

They cutted because he called him Big D and that's gay as fuck
