This deleted scene from Quentin Tarantino's KILL BILL 2 wasn't even included in the WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR for a few reasons. It was unnecessary, it slowed it down, and it turned out sillier than he anticipated. Still a cool scene.

Deleted scene from Paris, Texas (1984). John Lurie in his memoir wrote about Wim Wender's decision to leave this scene: “I am sitting next to Wim at the screening of Paris, Texas. The lights go down and he whispers to me, 'We had to cut the harmonica scene.' There was a thing in the film where I played harmonica over the phone to Nastassja Kinski, right after Harry Dean Stanton left the booth. When the film played at Cannes it was still in there, and it has come back to me a few times that the scene is great. That it got applause. I’m disappointed that he cut it.” #filmtwt

This deleted scene from The Return of the King shows Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli entering the Paths of the Dead a moment that feels far more atmospheric and practical than many remember. The production team built an enormous set for it and even created around 80,000 skull props for the avalanche sequence, all crafted by hand. 💀 It still amazes me that a scene with this much work behind it was cut from the theatrical release… but thankfully, the Extended Edition preserves it.

Tarantino hated this Kill Bill Vol. 2 scene initially because Michael Madsen insisted on using this hat. He bought it in Mexico while filming a Western and started wearing it to rehearsals to shape Budd’s washed-up cowboy vibe. Tarantino even told him to ditch it (and cut his hair). Madsen ignored him and kept showing up in it anyway. So Tarantino rewrote the strip club scene on the day—adding the boss’s “shit kicker hat” rant just to call it out. Madsen later said he “owed half [his] performance to that hat.”
