This deleted scene from The Last Jedi where Luke gives Rey one final lesson is so great, that I genuinely cannot believe that it didn’t actually end up in the final film. I feel like the Casino scene took too much time and budget, and far too many incredible scenes were cut

It’s pretty mid, but that would have made it the greatest scene in the Last Jedi by some margin.

They say it was removed for time, but honestly, when I think about the deleted scenes, this is the one I think about most. It also puts Luke and Rey in a position where she’s done looking to him for guidance and is in turn more incentivized to start talking to Kylo.

It would have been one of the best scenes in the movie it’s really good. And, that scene are actually canon. The scene appears in the novelization's extended edition, and the extended edition is Canon, it looks like Mark Hamill channels his Joker a bit when he laughs 🙀

I think this would have helped the discourse around Luke. "The Jedi way is to do nothing." "Are you gonna be here next month?" Then Ray taking out her frustration to his face over his hesitance to return. Would have been cathartic to the haters.

That actually is a good scene. Proof that @Disney is run by complete retards

It also showed the real lesson that Rey was too impulsive and didn’t think things through before acting on them. She rushed into action and found the truth was more complex than she initially believed. It’s something she doesn’t learn until Kylo Ren refuses to turn back.

Feels like they didn't want Rey to screw something up, even something this inconsequential. Really messes the vibe of the film when it wants failure to be the greatest teacher when Rey never truly fails something.

Easily the one deleted scene from the film I would have added back.

Why did she ignite the lightsaber hundreds of yards away? This movie was so stupid.

That scene was just as bad as the rest of the movie.

The problemI have with the scene is nothing changes. Anakin had a vision of Padme, acted on it, and caused it to happen. Luke had a vision of Ben, acted on it, and caused it to happen. Rey sees the ‘party,’ and again acts without knowing the truth. Which was what Luke wanted.

I thought all of the deleted scenes would’ve made the movie much better. This is a movie that was ruined in the editing room.

so they delete one of the few scenes of luke actually coming across as wise or at least interesting?

Seriously they need to stop being afraid of having LONG Star Wars films.

I like the depth in the dialogues between Rey and Luke, but man I really dislike the tonal shift of the scene. I love all the other Rian Johnson's movies but I still don't like TLJ. I would appreciate it a lot more if it was more consistent & didn't have all its "funny" twists.

That line about the "legend of Luke Skywalker" perfectly captures the conflict between the myth and the man.

Everytime I hear Luke Skywalker talk in his old age all I think about is Swamp Thing from Justice League Action.

Those two deserved so much better.

I so miss the Legendary Luke Skywalker... I do like his sence of humor in this scene though, it should have been kept in just for that.. Is it too late to at least have a "Legends Era" Luke movie??

Just realised. It's even funnier than I thought. Rey gets memed by Luke and gatecrashes the party realises she's been had a waves the saber about Then sees that Chewie and Artoo are having a grand old time. Its a party, they were invited she was not "Seriously" indeed
