This didn't get enough attention, but Egyptian authorities recently dragged two Americans inside their mission to the UN in NYC, beating and choking them. One was a 15 year old boy. Then both victims were themselves charged with crimes. Hear from eyewitnesses/family members:

A 16-year-old boy has been charged as an adult, and a 15-year-old girl has been charged in connection with a deadly mass shooting in Illinois. The 15-year-old girl, referred to as “W.T.,” is the granddaughter of victim Patricia May. She and her 16-year-old boyfriend, Ja’ymier Davis, are accused in the attacks. Davis has been charged as an adult with 5 counts of first-degree murder, dismembering a human body (allegedly cutting off Patricia’s thumb to access her phone and steal money), attempted murder, and other felonies. Disturbing texts between the teens referenced a "hit list" and willingness to kill family members. The girl's mother had reportedly warned police about a stolen gun and threatening messages beforehand. The 7 family members were shot at 3 locations, a park and two homes, in the East St. Louis area, with 5 victims dying from their injuries. Many children were detained and zip tied by ICE agents. These two were lucky enough to escape. “I didn’t get caught!” Said the one boy. Many others were not as fortunate. ICE agents fired rubber bullets at family members who were hoping to find their loved ones.

The family deserved answers then, and they deserve them now. We do not move on from a child’s death without transparency, accountability, and consequences for everyone who played a role.
