This entire breakdown of Luka's 73 point game is basketball pornography. Shoutout @jj_redick @OldManAndThree

They are absolutely right, todays nba offensive stars would use the handchecking against the defender. Either swipe it away to go by or use it to draw a foul. This isn't the old nba where the 90s Knicks could put their forearm on you & dictate what you do, guys are too good now.

If I had been given the opportunity to bet my entire net worth on whether Luka knew what “hand checking” means, I would have put it all on “no.”

bringing back hand checking would do almost nothing simply because its not something that even gets called today and it happens all the time so making it “not a foul” wouldnt change anything

@jj_redick it’s fascinatingly incorrect. you could keep your hand on the your man regardless if they were facing the basket or not then later modified to only a forearm & now only when the player isn’t facing the basket. definitely allowed defenders to deter a drive
