100% chance the military knows exactly what's going on. The fact that they haven't scrambled a jet or helicopter to investigate is telling. They almost certainly have, and not releasing any information about it is even more telling.

If the drones are clandestine, why flash bright lights..... at night? It seems one purpose of these drones is to test people's reaction to the PRESENCE of the drones. They're not hiding.
