This Eating Disorders Awareness Week, let’s set the record straight: Yes, MEN get eating disorders. But really, stranger things have happened 🤷🏻‍♂️ So tell everyone about our campaign, share our video — and together, we’ll #HelpMenGetHelp #MenGetEatingDisordersToo #EDAW2023

I think this is really inappropriate and has totally missed the mark. It's an important topic to talk about but needs to be framed sensitively, not through a bunch of joke clips which in my opinion only reinforce stigma - especially with Stranger Things references!

Folks, hello? Who produced this campaign video? Makes us all look like oddballs and caricatures.

I love your work Beat but this is completely inappropriate and offensive on so many levels. Using ‘stranger things’ reinforces stigma! Please take this down. Do better!!

This video seems to trivialise both men and eating disorders and even the underlying message is problematic. Get Men Get Help? Where from? Do better BEAT

For such an important topic that we need to take more seriously, this feels really uncomfortable to watch. I’m not sure the wording ‘stranger things’ has helped. They don’t want it to be more light-hearted, they want people to take them seriously.

I bet you'd never make campaign supporting plus size people with EDs.. I know we don't exist to most people.

This is just so disappointing, feels like a mockery rather than supportive messaging to promote men to seek support for an eating disorder, and then for it to be taken seriously when this video makes it into a joke and fuels the stigma and misconception that men don’t have EDs.
