This guy needs to spend less time on Tiktok and more time reading books. 🤦♂️

👀👀

“Am I stupid?” Yes, yes you are

Distressing to see this post go viral. P.S. 'Distressing' means, like, bad vibes, bro.

This dude just has a poor vocabulary.

Yes, as a native English speaker you should know these words by your age.

MFs in here saying "he should expand his vocabulary🤓" When tf will you use these words in regular conversations

@HennyGnav 👀👀

Twinge Extol Boon It's not difficult. The guy is an idiot.

Two of those questions are fairly high level vocab. I know all three answers but I think even most native English speakers would miss the second and third.

😅😅

English Gate: Make it really hard so Japanese people feel uncomfortable to study English. Reality: English is really simple.

🔥🔥

I don't even feel a twinge of guilt in extolling the virtues of even a medium sized vocabulary to you. It would be a boon to your intelligence if you'd read something outside of internet speak.

You were born in England, ate English food, speak English and still failed English

It does appear that you are not proficient in the "English" language.😏

I know all of these words, this guy thinks he’s critiquing the difficulty of a Japanese English language test—he’s really making a confession.

Yeah… this guy is the problem, not the test

“Am I stupid?” he asks. Yes.

The answers are 1) Twinge, 2) Extol, 3) Boon. This is easy stuff, & just means you have to read more.

Is this guy retarded or what

The answers are: Twinge Extol Boon What do you mean you've never heard of these words?!?

I think the point is they're teaching them English not American

They them energy: “I’m just bad at taking tests but I’m smart I swear”

So yeah, this guy might just be borderline illiterate

Have you ever read a book? It looks like a box but when you open it it has pieces of paper with words written on it? Maybe try that. It’s dangerous that someone who has such a low level of education has decided to try his hand as an influencer. What skills do you have that you think the world is in need of? You are barely literate

Are you joking? These are pretty basic.

Dang they really nerfed the English language in the US… or this guy is just a bad example.

got all 3 right ? did they not teach you context clues in school ?

twinge of sadness extol the strengths of each player boon to the area These are all super easy. None of the other words would even make sense. If you can't even make an educated guess on these words, someone did you wrong in high school. These are common words in fantasy, science fiction, D&D, theater, and a variety of other areas where most English speakers would encounter. I mean, its not like they were throwing out esoteric words like imbroglio, syzygy, pusillanimous, or refulgence.

At least he's asking the right question.

None of these are obscure words. I tested my 15 yr old and she knew all 3. The American school system has a lot to answer for.

These are basic words for anyone that reads regularly more than tweets and comic cartoons. 12 years of schooling, (not even including college) and these words are mysterious to most young Americans. Our school system is inefficient garbage, a complete waste of resources.

Any native speaker who actually READS should know all of these answers. The problem is that we have someone here who clearly isn’t very bright claiming to represent all native speakers acting as if his ignorance is normal.

I know them all woooo

"Am I stupid?" yes

Every word there is extremely common in English, especially written English. If you've never heard "eschew", "twinge", "boon", "bastion", or "abhor" by like, middle-school at latest then you've been intentionally deprived of adequate exposure to your own language.

I know all of those words and I am Hungarian. You see, I READ a lot. I passed my Cambridge Proficiency exam 2 years ago. He would have failed. So it seems that his vocabulary is extremely poor. That is not the fault of the exam.
