The only... people that should be kicking out at 1 are Hulk Hogan or monsters like Brock Lesnar, Jacob Fatu, and Oba Femi. Kenny is none of the above, so he should SELL THE FINISHERS. No, they’re not. In ring, probably, but in ring is not the only thing required to be a star. You sit Kenny down at a Panera bread, and he’ll blend in with the crowd there. You sit Roman Reigns down at that same Panera bread, and it’s highly likely he’ll be recognized by someone there.

As someone who enjoys all pro wrestling curious if people like this complain about WWE stars kicking out of 5 F5’s or 4 AA’s like it’s cool you don’t like a different style but to attack it like this when it’s the main event of their “Wrestlemania” with their goat is a wild choice

Wrestling looks like a much bigger joke when you see Cody Rhodes doing Dusty's obviously fake-looking punches, Roman Reigns throwing Superman Punches that don't even touch his opponent, the Usos and countless others hitting slow-motion superkicks that aren't even close to connecting, or WWE treating Danhausen's curses like they're actually serious. And there are countless other examples. No-selling a BRUTAL move can at least make the wrestler taking it look incredibly tough, like it takes even more to put them down. The examples I mentioned, on the other hand, make it obvious even to a 4-year-old that wrestling and the strikes are fake, and make it look like they don't take either the sport or their own work seriously.

This match was better than anything Roman has ever done in his career.

Omega has always no sold his own finisher.

It's the fighting spirit. Japan style. If anybody should be kicking out it's someone like Kenny. He's a stamina machine. He'd be able to reach down into the reserves to do something like that. If anything HH was the opposite.

The problem isn't just this main event, but the fact that the other fights look the same way. Literally everyone there wants to look like the Terminator—even the lightweights.

Listen to the crowd in that stadium. Did they hate it or did they love it? End of story. Stop watching. It's clearly not for you & that's okay! A ton of us love it. Not everything has to be a damn Hogan or Oba match. You don't need to like everything we do and vice versa. 🤫

Opinions only matter if they have substance and truth to it somewhat. But placing WWE talent above this is not the hill to die on. Roman is less than mid, Seth sucks, Punk steals moves and botches often, and the rest of the roster are lifeless and boring. You don't know ball.

They had people in that stadium hanging on to every move. This idea that the alternative has to give you the same type of wrestling that the other product gives you defeats the purpose of being the alternative. They gave people the match that the fans of this expected to see.

If they did this shit every match.. Ok.. But they literally only do it for like their biggest match of the year.. Im ok with it.. These are those guys of that promotion. This is AEW's Hulk Hogan.. As pathetic as that might sound..

That is my biggest problem with AEW outside of the Booker. I was watching AEW dynamite about 18 months ago. I actually saw Jon Moxley kicking out at one after getting hit, with back to back tombstone, pile drivers. That was when I said “I’m done! I cannot take this anymore!“ And turned off the TV all these guys care about, is getting themselves over and have no freaking clue about the art of professional wrestling. it’s like they forgot all about everything they were taught in the WWE. Making your opponent look good. Selling the struggle. Building the suspense. Kicking out at 2.99. The same get accomplished, then kicking out at one. While at the same time, you are selling the ferocity of the move.

This is why aew will never be as big and great as WWE. They don’t even deserve their name to be capitalized. They have 500 wrestlers on their roster, none of which know how to sell finishers.

It's a mockery of pro-wrestling. I was an avid AEW watcher until around 2024. Then it became hate watching, until I completely tuned off. That garbage belongs in a high school gym hosting Indy show.
