What Smith is missing: 1. that bill was bad and didn't stop the flow of illegals or expel those already here. 2. the biggest barriers to immigration reform are presidents who refuse to enforce federal law (i.e. Biden) and Dems suing the s*** out of a president who does.

I appreciate what you are saying here, but actually our legal immigration statutes do need significant reform, to make it less a lottery and family reunification system, and more of a merit-based system, where we choose the most productive and promising applicants.
