And then there is the “Fake Wood” trick. Congratulations on discovering concrete stamping.

This has been around for at least 25 years. One is called stencil. You place a paper stencil on the concrete and throw colour hardener on top. Then remove the stencil. The other is called slate. You have rubber pads that you place on the concrete. You stamp them to make the imprint. Lift the pad up to use it again. Trivia. There used to be a technique where a cast iron pattern was used instead of rubber mats. The imprint was much deeper, but the patterns were simpler. Just get concrete with colour in it. This stuff can be expensive and very "in and out" of fashion. A job I did last week with slate.

It's cheap, it looks cheap, and in Europe it's called shoddy workmanship

I can stamp concrete and it’s definitely worth it. The creativity you get with this is endless. Colors, shapes, customization. Price is one thing but you’ll love it

Nothing new was doing stamp work 20 years ago that color hardener and powder release agent they throwing on there will kill you without a mask and it gets all over the house then color fades unless you reseal it every year or so it’s a fad and mostly gone around here now

Gives drainage issues and lacks the strength of real bricks, when frost hit the the ground the concrete easily cracks, bricks are flexible

In America? So why does all the vehicles have English plates and telephone numbers? Maybe he’s spreading his trade

No expansion joints? Yeah that’s going to crack after the first year or 2! I hope your temp doesn’t drop to freezing cause she will heave.

Fake brick's the ultimate backyard glow-up: concrete dressed as heritage, minus the mason's ransom. Who knew a stamp could fool Mother Nature? Yards just got timeless on a Tuesday budget.

Until it cracks — as all concrete does — and it becomes obvious it's a single slab.

I know they do that in the US, but this video looks like the UK:

I had a driveway done like this 25yrs ago, it was a complete pain in the arse to maintain. It had to be varnished every few yrs & eventually it cracked. I got it dug up 5yrs ago.
