This felt so real back in the day

Watching this just gave me flashbacks of growing up in my household. I didn’t like it then and I don’t care to watch it now, it hits to close to home. But I will give these two credit, they played their parts flawlessly…great actors.

Is it me or was Rosanne kinda pretty back then?

It still feels real today. Decades later and this scene, along with many others, is still uncomfortably relatable. It's wild how a sitcom helped so many people realize that they weren't alone, and Roseanne can never get enough credit for that as far as I'm concerned.

nothing like being at home after a hards days work and putting on old shows like this, golden girls and whos line is it anyway with drew carry and falling peacefully asleep.

Golden girls

John Goodman rules He was the best part of the show

I love that show so much I was so disappointed how the new version ended they really did Roseanne bad.

How many American households were inspired to live out romanticized toxicity as presented by this show?

When I was a teenager, I remember saying that this show was one of the few on TV that was realistic, and I was met with strange stares and silence. Guess we didn’t all grow up this way, lol.

There's a reason Roseanne was such a giant in 90s pop culture. This show could swing between comedy and drama effortlessly and was always so good at it. Even its moves between political correctness and blue collar comedy were amazing.

That as real as it gets, the women always over react

This hits right in the generational trauma.

You ever see Rosanne Barr is She Devil? That movie was dope!

The one that made this show good was that they talked about real life problems in marriage in the family dynamic without holding back, this , when Dan had the heart attack, in law dynamics, mental health issues and non acceptance etc

Anyone else getting childhood flashbacks? My parents hated each other- and divorced 37 years into their marriage when they should have separated much sooner.

I’ve thought deeply many times before about if my mother and father ever fought like this when we weren’t around. They never did in front of us but I was always aware of a quiet desperation. They stayed married for 49 years, tho, until my father died last year. God bless them.

I fucking love Roseanne I watched it well into my adulthood and it broke my heart to find out she was a fucking cunt

We didn’t know how good we had it back then.

Ahhh, look at the goyim. Fat, stupid, and mediocre.

It’s funny how Roseanne (the actress) was then seen as comically fat and unattractive, yet here she basically looks like a normal middle-aged woman. It helps I have her muted.

Still disgusted that the entire cast threw her under the bus when she had that situation. Bunch of ingrateful bastards. She made every one of them famous.

Dawg that’s a good ass scene. She almost broke character when she called him fat lol

It's always the innocent food and tv that suffers.

I needed a trigger warning. This is how my parent fought. We went thru so many coffee tables, lamps and ashtrays 😭

I hated this fucking show. It was more depressing than funny most of the time

This has better acting than most Hollywood movies these days and really puts a spotlight on Goodman's greatness.

Definitely still feels real to me. My wife and I have had many of these REAL convo blow ups over our 28 years.

Great actors and great writing made this show real and memorable.

I was actually shocked at this episode. I never thought Dan & Roseanne would argue like that.

2026 Mom/Dad: You're father and I we're young and we didn't agree all the time, but we hardly ever fought in front of you. 1994 Mom/Dad:

It's because Roseanne was one of the very first tv shows to realistically portray a struggling blue-collar white family without glamour, or being wealthy. Their house looked like the average home in the 80's, they had the same issues. It was relatable

@tonyindamo84 They were so perfectly cast.

I wasn’t allowed to watch this because it was a depiction of “lowlifes”. I kinda get it. That’s a raw scene tho. Can’t go wrong with John Goodman.

Another Jew pretending to be the average all American white

Yah they don't make shows like this anymore and they didnt even make them back then too much either. It was a masterpiece

Top tier acting right there.
