Several years ago a highly experienced local cyclist was killed on a busy road like this by a truck. Truth be known bicycles and HGV’s are not a safe combination. I used to cycle and avoided heavy traffic roads like the plague.

Many more of highly experience car and van drivers get killed in collisions with trucks annually. Does that mean they shouldn’t use these roads?

I could burst with anger every time I see videos like this. By what right are the lives of cyclists being put at risk like this? A few days ago Natenom, a German bicycle activist, was killed by a driver. This shows once again that it can happen to anyone. At any time. Sad reality
