Actually I play a lot of golf and if you put your shadow over the hole the grass settles down after a few seconds and the ball drops..the ball must be slightly over the edge of the hole to work.

I don’t like that rule. A guy can take ten minutes to line up a seven footer, but if you are unlucky enough to sit on the edge of the cup, you get ten seconds. It’s beyond dumb.

Yeah, the rule’s always felt off. Lining up a putt can drag on forever, but the second it hangs on the lip you’re on a stopwatch. Pace of play makes sense in theory, but 10 seconds feels arbitrary when a fly can apparently decide it
