This game has such a special place in my heart

I never finished the story. I just swung between buildings until someone made me turn it off.

Mine too 🥲

Circus in town ? As a kid this game seemed so fast speed ahaha

LOOKS LIKE THE FREAK WANTS TO PLAY!!!

You could unlock Green Goblin as a playable character. It had his own moves and gadgets. Those were epic times to play!

I just got crazy flashbacks as a poor child with no memory card I had to play through the intro every time 😭

Core memories unlocked. I just swung around that city for hours.

Vote for backward compatibility here:

The voice acting and music are a big part in the great vibe and atmosphere of the game

Never understood why this game was basically forgotten. Yes the sequel had better swinging but overall the first game was better. The story and cheat codes alone make it better.

It's extremely dated, but I still have much appreciated for it.

I'd sell all my spare organs just to play this game again.

I like how in some ways this PS2 game looks better than even Spider-Man 3 on the PS3

I used to bring my Game Cube with a small flip up screen attached to it when I’d travel with my family just to play this.

It mede you feel like spiderman.

Me too I won it on competition it was my very ps2 video game

Bro is swinging on the clouds.

I still remember inserting the original CD-ROM and launching the game under Windows XP with DirectX 9.0b installed for full hardware acceleration support.

Daaaamn what yall yung bucks know bout this

Another rooftop? Yes! Different from this one? Yes! Gee lady what are you on about rooftop tour or something? Yes :((

It blew my mind as a kid that once you beat it, you can replay the whole game as the Green Goblin with the story (albeit roughly) changed to reflect that. Still absolutely insane to me.

That warehouse part use to scare the hell out of me. I use to stay on the wall and web them up 😂😂

In the tutorial if you keep beating up the infinite bad guys one of them says “yo what happened to the other guys that came up here?”

circus in town?

The Clock Tower made me want to put my head through a wall

Glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed this growing up tho. When the ps4 games came out I told people about this and they acted like I was crazy cause they never played it or heard of it. Like this game is genuinely so detailed for a ps2 game that lets you free roam

PS2 was my first console and back in 2002 I remember coming back home at night and getting to play my first game, Spiderman 1. SICK boxart I can't never forget and the feeling of playing the movie for a kid that thing is just pure magic. I could never beat this though xD.

Bro swinging to move three feet every time.

The first game I played on the PS2, still have my original copy to this day.

This game looked so good as a kid its crazy

I remember somehow I ended up with a physical copy of Spider-Man PS2 with my family not owning a console at the time when i was like 4 and I loved Spidey so much I would take the box with me everywhere and treat it like an action figure. 2 years later after that I finally got a PS2 and never put the game down for a second.

Spiderman 2 was that game for me

I remember playing that thing on our old family computer way way back in the early 2000s using a joystick for some reason and somehow I managed to make it all the way to the first fight with the Green Goblin
