Part of the reason starts with the candidates for POTUS. Harris seems to want to be president for the notoriety, fame, image, etc. All the wrong reasons. Trump seems to be running for president (again) to help turn the country back around from the disastrous course we are currently on. They will no doubt, attract those who are interested in similar goals & desires.
