Terrorists and money launderers have perfected the use of charity as a cover. The government cannot fight terrorism while leaving its financing open. If you are clean, you should be begging for regulation to separate you from the criminals tarnishing your sector.

The bill is an excellent one and few parts can be debated upon + Abuja is there to carryout oversights to know where funds are coming from, what is the purpose and how it will be utilized etc. NGOs, Faith-Based Institutions etc are all used as conduit pipes for money laundering and terrorism

Odinkalu needs to be checked. This is not normal anymore. All he does is whip up sentiment because he knows a lot of Nigerians don't do personal research. How is the government regulating NGOs a bad thing? Is this man saying he doesn't know the atrocities NGOs have wrecked in the country? Is there anyone in this country who doesn't know that the terrorism and lengthy unrest experienced in some part of this country and in some countries around the world are largely encouraged by unscrupulous NGOs? The fact that he even went as far as editing a video for this purpose shows he's part of those benefiting from the chaos and blo0dshed these NGOs are causing. This is a brilliant move and I hope the bill is passed speedily.

@AnthonyGeneral_ I know that this government is evil, but I think this video is doing a bit of fear mongering as well. I don't believe some of the things that he is saying. I think he might be more concerned with religious bodies coming under more scrutiny

In India, there’s currently an ‘NGO bill’ (Foreign Contribution Regulation Amendment Bill, 2026), that even proposes creating a designated authority with powers to take control of assets built using foreign contributions. We are talking about national interests here!

India is going through the exact same thing, the bill has been passed in India. and it is a good move for Nigerians too. Most NGOs are being used to sponsor insecurity across the nation. it needs to stop.

Why are you afraid of accountability & being subjected to regulations? What exactly are the NGOs & the CSOs hiding? I thought it's a universal saying that he who must come to equity must do so with open and clean hands? For Nigeria to survive, this bill must be passed into law.

The target is the church of Jesus Christ. They will accredit more of the Islamic Community via the MUSLIM - MUSLIM TICKET and leave the Church of God broke so that Christianity can die in Nigeria.

Why must NGOs operate w/o regulations, incl. registration, purpose/mission, financing, activity tracking, and periodic audits for compliance? Just why? Are NGOs not regulated in the USA and other sane countries? Is this not a country where: 🆘Insurgency funded by non-profit entities is undermining national security? 🆘 Mega churches collect tithes from the masses to build & run universities which kids from poor families can't afford to attend? 🆘Men of God move about in limos & private jets and have real estate investments in London & Dubai funded from church funds? 🆘In Sept 2014, a jet owned by Pastor Oritsejafor was caught in RSA stashed with $9.3m undeclared cash allegedly for black mkt arms purchase? 🆘NGOs promote GM farming that's banned in most of Europe & USA, whose objective is to make poor local farmers dependent on imported GMO seedlings, fertilizers, and also herbicides which render farmlands sterile to other native crops, ultimately makingus unable to feed ourselves but dependent on food imports? 🆘NGO organizations are involved in birth-control testing using Africans as guineapigs? This man wants to use govt-is-after-you mentality & religion to stoke opposition to regulating nefarious NGO activities in Nigeria. @DavidHundeyin pls can you do an expose on this man to tell us which NGOs are funding his busybody activities and what other nefarious activities his sponsors are sponsoring in Africa?

I'm all for regulating NGOs . There has to be some level of accountability from them especially from the perspective of National Security. Lots of the so called NGOs are just CIA agents. My problem is the incompetence of Abuja to manage it.

Not seen the bill, but this sounds like an exaggeration. I infer the govt is trying to track terrorism funding funneled through NGOs. Of course, they have to be measures put in place for there not to an overreach by politicians or civil servants.

@WOyetunde Why do I have a feeling that this bill was drawn up by a foreign government and given to Tinubu’s government to implement? The Tinubu government is not smart enough to draft this bill up. Someone is trying to enslave Nigeria again after independence, and it’s not the British 🇬🇧.

This law isn't as dangerous as portrayed. But what the @nassnigeria should do is to regulate ALL foreign NGOs and ANY local NGO that has a foreign tie or receives money from a foreign organization. By that the illicit flow of funds to terror organizations can be curtailed.

Is this not about accountability?? If they have nothing to fear... they shouldn't be afraid. Overseas, there's a lot of scrutiny with religious and Charity funding, to ensure people aren't stealing. Also, NGOs have been seen to fund terrorists. This needs to stop

The masses are still the ones that will suffer more hardship. It means that humanitarian effort like this 👇will need approval from Abuja. It will be denied or delayed especially if the organizer is the kind that speak truth to power. You can see what efcc has become today
