Grew up using these. Still have the clamps and tools. I'd pay good money to get more of them.

I remember dad patching inner tubes with those. WTF did we stop using inner tubes? Everything is tubeless now and tires going flat because the beads don’t seal.

These worked brilliantly when we used tubed tyres. Bicycle and car tyres. It was satisfying & no messy or dried up glue.

Look up planned obsolescence. Items are intentionally created with inferior materials to assure consumers continue to consume.

The Govt banned them. Likely because they worked.

In the case of inner tubes, they don't make them at all. Period. Because modern tires are better.

Why the hell are we selling kids rubber cement for? This is so much cooler than accidentally killing brain cells to fix a tube.

my grandmother and mum do often say back in the day EVERYTHING was fixable. buying something to replace something else was unheard of. compared to today. hell even the humble mythical irish leprechaun was known as an skilled cobbler shoe fixer.

We still vulcanize belts today...like those long tramline coal and mining belts.. they split the ends ply them together then apply a heated vulcanizer clamp that melts the rubber and internal ribbing together into a seamless joint.

That's all we had back then. I still have one like that 😂
