Jordan Peterson: "If you can't fix your room, you can't fix your life" "Why should you even bother improving yourself? The answer is something like: so you don't suffer anymore stupidly than you have to. And maybe so others don't have to either. It's not some casual self-help doctrine. If you don't organize yourself properly, you'll pay for it. In a big way. And so will the people around you." Peterson continues: "You can say, 'Well, I don't care about that.' But that's actually not true, you do care about it. Because if you're in pain, you will care about it. It's very rare that you can find someone in excruciating pain who would say, 'Well, it would be no better if I was out of this.' Pain brings the idea that it would be better if it didn't exist along with it. It's incontrovertible." On how to start: "Look around for something that bothers you and see if you can fix it. You can do this in a room. Sit in your bedroom and think: 'If I wanted to spend ten minutes making this room better, what would I have to do?' You have to ask yourself that, it's a genuine question. And things will pop out. There's a stack of papers bugging you. Some rubbish behind your computer monitor you haven't attended to for six months. Cables tangled up." He explains why this matters: "If you were coming to see me for psychotherapy, the easiest thing would be to get you to organize your room. You think, is that psychotherapy? It depends on how you conceive the limits of your being. Start where you can start. If something announces itself as in need of repair that you could repair, fix it. If you thought about that experiment for five years, that would be about the right amount of time to spend thinking about it." He explains what it reveals: "What it shows you is that you see what you aim at. If you can get one thing through your head, that would be a good one. You see what you aim at. One inference you might draw from that is: be careful what you aim at. What you aim at determines the way the world manifests itself to you. So if the world is manifesting itself in a very negative way, one thing to ask is: are you aiming at the right thing?"

This pool guy was called to find a leak that no one else could find. Within a little while he detected the leak around a jet. He wasn’t sure why no one could find it. The only way to permanently fix the leak was to jackhammer into the concrete and replace the pipe which would roughly cost $5K. Or, you could temporarily fix the leak with some putty for about $25. This is why I don’t own a pool anymore. If it could go wrong it would. Seems like there is always an issue with a pool. If you were the homeowner, would you spend the $5K to replace the pipe and not worry about it for a long time or would you just keep temporarily fixing it with putty?

This video was supposedly filmed back in 2011 — well before AI even existed — a guy uses a specific sound frequency on what looks like a crystal or stone and creates a visible shimmering “stable fracture” in the air right in front of him. He claims it’s a real portal connected to a Sedona vortex that can link to another state. Now, just because it was supposedly made before AI doesn’t mean the video couldn’t have been manipulated in some other way… but it does make the whole thing harder to instantly dismiss as fake. The guy keeps talking about frequencies and energy, which instantly makes me think of words famously attributed to Nikola Tesla: “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” (That’s also why I have the 3, 6, and 9 in my handle — Tesla supposedly said “If you only knew the magnificence of the 3, 6, and 9, then you would have a key to the universe.”) Do you think something like this is actually possible? I do, but is this video proof of that? Not in my opinion.

Speaking of cyclists who think the road revolves around them… This guy on the e-bike pulls up to a parked white Lamborghini. His wife already went around like a normal person. There’s clearly space. A kid is literally selling lemonade right there. But instead of doing the obvious thing, he stops, plants his feet, pulls out his phone, and acts like he’s the main character in a movie nobody asked for: “All I’m asking is if you can move your car off the bike lane into this side road. This is real-time.. The debate about Nvidia's latest neural rendering tech is ongoing. One side sees the potential of the technology to bridge the gap across the uncanny valley, to give us a much less rigid creative process than a to b to c.. the other side shouts "slop" and tries to shame any creative who dares to explore this new technology, any chance they get. Meanwhile, I'm over here saying "I told you so".. Gen Ai is here to stay, its becoming real-time and Nvidia now has the "RTX on" for AI which I've been talking about for years. We need creatives to help shape meaningful tools that combine this tech with much more granular creative control.. with tools where you as an artist see your creative thumbprint from beginning to end in the parts of the work that matters the most to you. If you're shaming artists or storytellers who embrace these tools, you're doing them a disservice in my opinion. If they don't learn to utilize these tools and workflows, to make them their own and to shape them, others will. There's no way this tech won't be a huge part of the creative industry and of the way we tell stories. It's happening around us as we speak. That said, at the core of it, do what makes you happy and create in any way you like. Don't let people tell you that "you can't do this" or "you have to do it like this".
