Laziness is a symptom of no vision, no hunger and no plan... If you ever felt lazy, itโs because your soul forgot what itโs fighting for. Pursue a goal. It can be anything. As long as it gets you out of bed and straight to working. Once you have a goal bigger than you, you'll do anything to achieve it.

I was too lazy to watch this shit.. He failed.

Too lazy to watch this shit

Most of what ruins a man's life is laziness. They know exactly what they should be doing to reach their goal but they're facing resistance in getting the work done. The solution: Mantra: Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. If something can be done in the present, there is absolutely no reason to wait. Delay is the enemy. Urgency must become second nature -- especially for the things that truly matter. Act as if hesitation could cost you everything, as if inaction would lead to irreversible loss. Picture the worst-case scenario if you donโt move now -- the kind of regret youโd carry for years.

Whatโs weird is I think like this at work, but I get home and Iโm like na fuck that Iโm not doing anything.

I watched this, thought about it, and I think he's partially correct - but he misses the point. I don't know any lazy people, if you use his definition. Furthermore, by his definition, I've never been lazy. Not once. The problem is NOT focusing on the effort and forgetting about the goal... the problem is not valuing the goal! Think about it - if one perceives the goal as unimportant, they won't put in the effort. Their time is more valuable. If one is CONTENT with mediocrity, they do not value anything better, certainly not at the expense of their time and effort. If one is entitled, having been given everything their whole life, they will not put in the effort to achieve those things because they have no value to him. It's been free the whole time, why work for it? If someone sees the goal as valuable but UNATTAINABLE, they're going to check out immediately, and produce no effort. I think if we can convince people that a goal is valuable and attainable, effort becomes irrelevant. No more laziness.

I hate when the whole point takes 5 seconds to make and then he just repeats the same point for another 2 minutes in slightly different words. Imagine what he could have accomplished if he focused a bit less on the outcome and a bit more on the effort.

The daily work cycle results in nothing. So you go meta-cognitive to try to assess why the work results in nothing and you find that all your analysis has already been assessed by people with more power and money than you.

Is that the racist dilbert hero?

Cravings are a great example.

@ScottAdamsSays is a true treasure. God Bless him.

It's how engineers think. They think about how much of a hassle it will be. Then they think about how to make it less of a hassle. Then they do it, and make good money because of that lazy phase concocting the plan first.

who is this? @grok

Heโs close. Itโs not about the focus; itโs about the brainโs ability to receive the reward. Some people donโt get the same chemical reward in their brain despite putting in the same effort so the cost/benefit calc in their minds doesnโt drive the action.

He is correct. However, the Cost-Benefit ratio had increased dramatically in our society, especially for the younger generations. Itโs a problem.

No, he's wrong. Laziness is about thinking you're smart.

I think Iโm just addicted to the free dopamine from social media.

Iโm efficient because Iโm lazy; laziness is just efficiency postponed.

Tragically, incorrect. This type of thinking will lead you to burnout.

Then again, if you donโt plan for the effort youโre unprepared!?

This could've been useful to me eight years ago

Scott Adams is the man!

I say this to myself every time I have a big task, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time

This sums up my mentality 100000%

I believe what he is pointing out is referred to as CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy.

extreme infoblessing

Laziness is an insult to your parents and more people who believe in you. You are telling them that they are wasting their energy to become what you are working so hard to become.

I heard women forget how much it hurts... the memory of that pain wears offโฆ And that's built in to the operating system system, so will continue to reproduce.

Raw action solves all nothing fixes itself, youโre gonna do it anyway so why not just do it now

Damnnn, I'm gonna try to apply it.

That is where procrastination comes in
