This had a 60% catch probability. If Steer is going to be touted for being able to play all around the field, we need him to at least hit. While it’s awesome he’s willing to play all over, the only position he is above average at defensively is first... show more

His ceiling is so low. Tired of wasting spots on low tier players.

These slow starts kill us. I'm so sick of losing divisional series.

Is it really struggling in Hayes’ case when he usually doesn’t hit anyway?

The only ones hitting and/or being productive are Sal and Geno. Elly has been pretty useless too. Sal and Geno are also the only ones hitting in the clutch

You can throw the strike out waiting to happen Elly in there too.

You forgot to mention he can't hit either.

Has to be caught

tenemos muchos vacios en el orden al bat...no podemos depender de 2 nada mas.

You can’t win at the MLB level with a roster of AA guys-win more than 80 games organization says it is a successful year win 90 games make the playoffs trade all the assets for minor leaguers bcuz they don’t want to pay guys but they can’t develop talent its a lose lose 4 fans

Ugh, he took such a bad route on that one.

We’re right where we left off. McClain is looking like a .225 hitter, we traded for a 3B who can’t hit, and steer will ever be who we needed him to be

He misread that fly ball for a double early in the game Not good

Until Hayes if off my team I’m holding off on week 1 rust.

To be fair, Hayes has never been able to hit himself out of a wet paper bag

That ball has got to be caught.

RECE HINDS doesn’t seem to be having any issues at the plate or the field!!!

Steer being sharpied in the lineup everyday for 3 fucking years now is unfuckingreal.

Need to play them at their natural positions. I think all of the constant shuffling throws the players off their mental game.

I'm less worried about the Reds' defensive liabilities than about their seemingly endless inability to make adjustments when hitting.

Hard to blame Steer given his lack of playing time in RF. If you’re down runs in that switch situation is there a world where you consider removing Friedl, keeping Steer in LF, and then putting Marte in RF.

Not Good!

Really too many people playing out of position. Sal, Steer, Marte. The outfield is a liability defensively and not swinging good bats either. The infield is a strength defensively but also not swinging good bats.

This teams Fundamentals suck. No Closer. Hitting is atrocious and Friedel is not a everyday player . Otherwise we're good

Steer just looks like he’s having a rough time overall this year. I can see it in his face.

I like Steer. But he should be a utility guy that starts 90 games, not 150. Would like to see Hinds have a chance.

Time for a Hinds call up

Don't believe that any player can concentrate in hitting as well as how to play a different position every other game.

Hinds makes that catch easily.

Great point! Steer moved to his right more instead of moving more to his back.

Someone please explain why they value defense at third base, but not at 1B. Steer easily the second best defender on this team when he’s at first base. Why wouldn’t Sal at 3B (his natural position) & Steer at 1B (best position) be a more logical defensive alignment?

The "patchwork Reds" courtesy of Phil Castelleni

Steer isn’t Bugs Bunny and he hasn’t hit in two years. They keep bringing back average players and expecting different results. They are what they are. I would trade Benson and Steer and play some of the other players brought in.

I’m not a fan of what percentage is that a catch will be made. Just do away with that altogether. Way too many variables impact that. Over use of analytics.

You do realize the manager stuck him in a position he had rarely played

Team is full of a bunch of guys who aren’t particularly good at anything. Needs churn. Heavy churn. This group is terrible.
