My wife always removes the bag without replacing it, so I have started doing that also. I havent asked why I just assume its for a good reason (like if it airs out it smell less or something) so I wait until I need to use it and put a bag then.

Reminds me of a time when I had a roommate and we piled up trash so that we would not have to take the bag out. Usually it was so full that I rather just took it out than tried to fit trash there. We both walked pass the trashcan outside every day.
