This happened today while I was demonstrating Tesla Full Self-Driving V14.2.2.4 LIVE, here on 𝕏 and I’m so glad I wasn’t driving. THIS is an example of how FSD can save lives.

I’ve been testing /demonstrating FSD for over four years. By now, I have a good idea of when it might be necessary to take over. In this case, I felt the car reacting.

Yup. Had an old guy almost fall into the road taking out trash on my way home one night. Saw him at the same time as the car started swerving. Extra set of eyes all around a car is always welcome. Hope all cars make it to this level.

It’s important I demonstrate HW3 FSD as well so that we don’t forget what we paid $15k for and how Elon was wrong about its capabilities.

I understand that however he has said publicly on more than one occasion that the goal is to solve FSD on AI4 then they can go back get it running on HW3. If that isn’t possible HW3 owner like yourself who paid 15k will get a hardware upgrade for free.

Elon also said publicly on more than one occasion HW3 would be capable of unsupervised Full Self-Driving. My $119k Model S Plaid isn’t getting any younger. By the time Elon gets around to getting FSD Unsupervised on my car, it will be 10 years old. That’s a shitty way to treat customers.

He was wrong on timing and the hardware that it would be achievable on. That is a fact. It’s your choice to stick with what you have currently when you can transfer your 15k FSD to a new car that is also less than 119k now. I’m happy you had a good experience yesterday with HW4.

If you are not able to stop in time for the cyclist when driving your self I am also glad you wasn't driving....

fsd is great. Ive had it only mess up a few times and none of those times were dangerous messups. More just awkward behavior

Great idea to not interven and taking the hands of the wheel in a dangerous situation. What could go wrong? That is the exact opposite of supervising.

100% better for you to use fsd if you lack this much awareness when driving. Now that I think about it, fsd is also great for people who enjoy driving their own cars - one less terrible driver on the road to deal with

FSD is truly amazing. Hopefully it’s not paywalled for much longer.

To be honest most modern cars with AEB would stop for that.
