Wow, Russell. As a new believer, you've got more insight into that scripture than most lifelong Christians. Yes, "Lucifer" (actually "helel," Isaiah 14:12) has fallen. In like manner, our sinful nature has to continually fall/be cast down so that He is ultimately glorified.

It is literally the Power of The Holy Spirit within us. He indwells us. The scriptures say so. Jesus tells the disciples that he is going away and that it is good that he is going away because when he does he will be able to send them a helper. The Holy Spirit

It was actually Satan himself that Jesus saw being cast out of Heaven. Also, there is a name for Satan in the New Testament. It is the Greek word poneros-πονηρός. It means, "the evil one." you'll find it used, for example, in Luke 11:4. It's not a "life force" or a way of thinking. It is a being who is evil but not omnipresent or omniscient. He's just plain evil.
