To anyone who still has cable. Go turn on MTV. It’s still there. That big publicity you heard last week was about MTV ending its 24 hr music channels in Europe. They actually still had channels playing videos 24/7 over there. We haven’t had that in the US for well over a decade

I was on staff at MTV for four years at the famed On-Air promos dept. It was awesome. Everyone cared deeply about music and film. Many of us had bands. Higher ups let us do our thing - no agency-esque approval levels, no focus groups, the directors and artists ruled. Later found out no other place in the world like it - very very special place.

1. MTV main is still there. 2. This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

That never happened. That is AI. I am sitting here in Dallas, Texas watching MTV, MTV2, MTV Classic, MTV Live all on Charter Spectrum Cable on Jan. 5, 2026. MTV only took down some sub-channels in some foreign countries. Nothing happened in the United States.
