this iconic performance was 40 years ago today 🍻

I was there.

sick!!

jeez So many ppl outside of my circle are seein’ this hi guys i tweet a lot about cliff burton/metallica follow me if u want

The major rager on the 4 string motherfucker! 🔥

I was there! Day on the Green at the Coliseum in Oakland. Victory, Angie, Metallica, Y&T, Matt, and Scorpions. 100 degrees and about 75,000 people. It was epic. Metallica and Scorpions were amazing.

If that was at the Oakland coliseum with scorpions as the headliner, I was there!

that’s right!! how was it for you?

Great! never heard Metallica until that day, but a buddy I went with was a fan. he said they were going to be the best band we heard that day.

@cowboyburton So were they?

@cowboyburton I liked them but I wasn't really into the harder, faster metal. Y and T is my favorite band, so to me they were the best. Scorps were doing their world wide live tour and they were really good. only time I've seen them.

Cliff Em All!!!

@Lefteyelouie For Whom the Bell Tolls 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

There will never be a better metal band than the cliff years of Metallica

Hi cliff

Back when they were a great band

theyre still great

@cowboyburton Come on, they're in their 60s, of course they're going to lose half a step. I saw them in DC this May and they were great. Funny thing, 80% of the audience was 40 and up. We were a whole bunch of old folks.

@cowboyburton I’m not saying you can’t like them i’m saying I don’t like them anymore. They changed and the drummer sued their own fan.

I was there…. And the world was forever changed from that day forward.. people went there to see the likes of yngwie and scorpions and had their rock socks blown off their feet by the end of one of the opening sets. It was amazing

You cant ‘t go wrong with 80s Metallica.

I was there. That was a fun day!

Greatest metal band to ever do it - Metallica

Go Metallica🖤Cliff 'Em All (RIP)🖤

@philthatremains The single greatest loss to music in history.

* Rising Force / Y & T!

Cliff m all

Most of the great band in the metal world!!!🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

I was there, I was 19 years old. Best show I’ve ever seen!

@breadfan1967 They were never the same after they lost Cliff.

He's drinking Heineken...

I was more upset that Metallica cut their head banging locks, than Kiss taking off their makeup.

Genius !
