"You take control of Tricky O'Possum as he traverses the Astral Plane on his journey to beat up the titular Dream Caster and break his curse!" looking amazing! you can support the dev here:

Too much movement, looks like it's too easy to glide past most of the level

If I made a post like "I just generated a whole game with ONE PROMPT to Claude!" and posted this exact video, people would be shitting on it. but since someone took 1000x the time to make the content of this video, we're supposed to clap?

Meh, you are just too overpowered with all those gimmicks, double jumps, floating, etc. It just feels pointless A random Mario 64 mod is better than this

Hello! I'm one of the people working on this! Thank you very much for your support! We'll make sure the game is quite awesome possum!

Absolutely would play, this looks super fun!

yeah, it really does! the aesthetic is spot on

The criticism on this game is confusing as hell, game is about moving and jumping and people are like "wah the movement is too slick". Huh?!!?

Weird vibes. The mechanics look really fun, but I'm not sold on the aesthetics. The characters look very "we needed a character to play as and didn't think further than homages and mechanics." I need the environment to feel a little more like a place.

Is this a platformer or open world, because the enemies should be in your path and an obstacle, not a useless NPC like every empty open world, if you’re going for nostalgia at least mimic the games you’re inspired by

The video has them moving around as fast as possible and not actually attempting to do a thorough job of collecting everything because if they played it that way it'd expose how boring their collectathon is.

I am so happy the ps2/dreamcast/gamecube/xbox era of indies is upon us because that's what this looks like

The movement is too powerful, it seems like you can just sort of go anywhere you like. How are they going to design later levels so it's interesting to get around without just putting huge gaps between each platform?

name 5 collectathons from the dreamcast

environment reminds me of the beta version of windy valley from sonic adventure. pretty sick

...is it wrong for me to say that I'm getting sick of seeing momentum-based gameplay in platformers? It's especially a sore point here because back then, a sixth gen game wouldn't have such smooth movement tech, and I'm a stickler for period accuracy.

dude this looks insane i have GOT to check this out ive been DREAMING of something like this for ages holy

not just would, i HAVE - and it was a lot of fun i recommend it, just hope braindead journalists dont go calling it the “sonic killer” for the millionth time

Why do indies do nothing but blatantly copy off other games

The "dream caster"? Couldn't think of anything else? Not at all?

Dream Caster vs Tricky O'Possum sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon that accidentally shipped as a platformer. I am here for it

Trying way too hard to be Sonic Adventure 1 instead of its own thing. No thanks

"It's just like a Dreamcast game!" *plays the demo like a Mario Odyssey speedrun, complete with some of the same moves* What are we doing here?

Kind of reminds me of ape escape 🥅

As a backer of this game, this shows a lot of promise from the Dreamcast era, and I welcome it wholeheartedly

what happened to game mechanics and progression? most of these indie platformers are just empty levels

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that we don’t have to play this game like we are soeedrunning it, as this clip shows.

This is basically what I wanted Balan WonderWorld to feel like

It seems that everything that looks good these days is absolutely shit on. Gamers are such miserable creatures these days...

This game reeks of estrogen

Cool moveset and beautiful graphics- but the level design is kinda reminiscent of Sonic Adventure's prototype Windy Valley, which was too huge with no clear direction and later changed to a much more memorable and shorter level with more substance. Bigger is not always better.

collectathon fans are gonna eat so good with this one. (me)

Yes it looks so fun

Does the game value fast platforming or collecting? Looks like there's chests at every turn, but the gameplay suggests they're unimportant. The enemies seem like an afterthought, but this could be the first stage, so I'm not sure.

I can see the influence from Sonic in this.
