This is a brilliant segment by the @Todayshow about the direct connection between catching Covid and the raised risk of a heart attack. I had to keep pinching myself to check it was real and I wasn't dreaming. Thank you NBC News Erin McLaughlin Dr. John Torres Please share widely!

Blows my mind that their tweet only has 50 retweets. 🫤 Please share and reshare.

And the segment is here on their website to share outside of twitter:

Thank you also to Dr Susan Chang for her sane and sensible explanation. I don't think she's here on twitter, but if anyone knows her, please say thank you!

And yes, they could have been sharing this six months ago, but better now than never.

I felt crazy writing this stuff six months ago. Feeling vindicated now.

I'm going to give a shout out to @meetjess who has shouted and shouted and shouted about this issue for half a year. She's awesome.

I'm going to propose that among the reasons that more young people have died from heart attacks after Covid is that fewer young people got vaccinated and that young people would be slightly less likely to spot the signs of heart trouble or do anything about them.

And more likely to try and 'push on through'.

@guardian @Channel4News @itvnews @SkyNews @DailyMirror @BylineTimes Can you all get on to this please?

I'm still pinching myself.

I think this is the Cedars-Sinai research they're referencing, but I'm not 100% sure - has there been anything more recently from them?

And yes, they should have empathised masking and how to do it properly.
