Nut serts, they've been around a long time

It’s a bandaid fix. Torque it down a little too much and watch it spin free. Aviation style anchor nuts are a way better solution.

They go by many names. Blind nuts, nut serts, speed nuts, just depends on where you are from. I prefer the rivet gun installation tool, but pull bolts work best in tight spaces.

They are made from a quite soft material a tend to loosen over time.

Google: RivNut

I believe they’re called “blind rivet nuts”

This wild technology, at a minimum, is 30+ years old.

They work very well I been a mechanic most of my life and I'm 65 and retired now I should know

I’ve used those before to install a roof rack on a vehicle. They work great

the way everyone in the comments already knows exactly what these are called is the real tell 😭

Love these things!
