For everyone curious about why the helicopter can land safely and not fall like a brick. It's called autorotation and every helicopter pilot has to know how to do it. You need speed, altitude, and balls. It uses energy stored in the rotors due to descent to create a soft landing.

As a helicopter pilot, I can tell you that youneed one of three things when your engine quits in a helicopter. Speed, altitude, ideas. If you run out of all three, you’re 💀

But it also shows just how crucial training and skill are in emergency situations. The pilot's cool-headed response and quick thinking allowed him to make a safe emergency landing, even in such a challenging environment.

This was both cool and an uncomfortable watch.

This is a great video to teach the importance of staying calm during intense moments Well done by this helicopter pilot 🧑✈️

Fascinating drone footage looking down into a volcanic eruption from above.

I need this calmness when my life is sucking😶🤐

Happened to me on a test flight after maintenance. Perfect autorotation! I guess that is why we practice so many of them! 🚁

Gotta respect the calm, thoughtful demeanor of this Pilot under stress. This is how it’s done.
