Walkinshaw: What we heard was hours of testimony where Lutnick was attempting to redefine the meaning of the word “I.” He claims that when he said, “I would never be in a room again with Jeffrey Epstein,” he meant only him and Jeffrey Epstein. Lutnick acknowledged that he did stop there briefly, claiming the visit lasted about an hour while traveling by boat during a family vacation. According to him, his wife, children, nannies, and another family were present, and they all had lunch on the island before leaving together. That’s worth keeping in mind alongside what Lutnick said back in 2005 after meeting Epstein: “And we decided that I will never be in a room with that disgusting person. Ever again. So I was never in a room with him socially, for business, or even philanthropy.
