This is a false catshark, Pseudotriakis microdon, named for catlike eyes. A bit soft around the middle — some might even say these ground sharks are flabby — and they move rather slowly, which led to another common name: “sofa shark.” #DeepWonders, 1,086 m

Toothless of the sea

They have no idea that over a thousand meters above them, beings from a realm they cannot fathom are calling them fat.

Love the visible curiosity and inquisitiveness the shark displays here. They may not be friendly sea puppies, but sharks aren’t mindless “doll-eyed” killers either.

How to Train Your Pseudotriakis Microdon

This shark is sleek and svelte like a cat obviously, u r crazy

He looks so polite

did you just call them fat

We body shaming sharks now lol

Deep-sea adaptations never fail to amaze. Fascinating footage from over 1,000 meters down! 👏

De frente me recordó a :

sofa shark is such an unfairly accurate name for this guy

Not sure sofa shark is fitting name because that slow moving cane be a deception as some sharks can still be fast enough to catch prey

This is mysterious and unreal to me

Even the reproduction is low effort by shark standards. Two to four pups per litter, each already 70 to 85 cm at birth, raised in the womb on a diet of their mother's unfertilized eggs. Nothing about this animal is in a rush.

Oh, that's interesting

Do they bite

Wow, that's a flabby motherf#cker!

Parece mais comigo que com o tubarão.

Sea puppy.
