If the Voice has no powers, purely advisory (advice which can be ignored), as we have been told, why do it? Makes no sense and should not be in the Constitution. On the other hand, if in fact justiciable (as demanded by Langton), don’t do it. We won’t know until it’s tested.

That makes sense. However- to have something embedded into the constitution the change needs to be very clear. You can’t vote on an idea then have Parliament decided on the fine points. Bring a clear and concise description to the people to vote on. 🤷🏼

She perfectly encapsulates the ridiculous and completely symbolic nature of the "Voice". It's meaningless - 25 people, un-elected, all on six figures, channelling money to their own clans and families just like ATSIC did. Nothing will change for the impoverished indigenous.

Set up a trial Voice [bc controversial with some profound issues, racism and the constitution] We can watch who are the chosen voices We will hear and ponder their thoughts And the Voice will slowly die because it has no function, answers no outstanding issues #VoteNoToApartheid

All Australian people would like a greater voice in Parliament. Especially Working class Australians who have no parliamentary voice at all! I’m voting No to an Ethnic based aristocracy/house of lords for Australia I’d vote yes to constitutional recognition but No to this “Voice”

And that’s the problem, it can change, therefore it’s a blank document enshrined in our constitution, so no!

Sorry you seem to be missing the point. You don't build institutionalised racism into the Australian Constitution. You don't have separate categories of citizenship, voting rights & Parliamentary chambers all based on race. & you don't divide Australia like this .... #VoteNo

A voice for the aboriginal industry, by the aboriginal industry. Does absolutely nothing for the the majority. The select few will benefit. Again. And real problems will never be solved. Another waste of hundreds of millions of dollars.

@wendy_harmer That needs to be an ad on TV and all social media. Explains it in a nutshell!
