Christian Doty (‘26, MS) does not stop hitting. Went 3-3 w/ 2B and 3 RBI’s. Super-impressive all-around athlete with the ability to impact the game in a number of areas. The bat-to-ball skills here are legit, and there's projectable juice still coming into his lean frame. #WWBA #OleMiss commit.

It’s been an outrageous weekend for Vanderbilt Baseball 2026 commit RJ Cope, a 6-foot-8 first baseman and lefty with top-of-scale raw juice from the left side at the plate. The big man is 10-for-16 with a homer, double, four walks to two Ks and three stolen bases. It’s a no-doubt power over hit profile but he’s done an outstanding job of waiting for his pitch and depositing it in gaps like in the video below when he put a defensive two-strike swing on a ball to cash in runs for his team in a critical spot. All of this and Cope is still new to hitting. His potential is off the charts with the bat.

Putting coaches. Help me out. -RH players are comfortable with right-to-left putts. -Then we change for left-to-right. The stroke looks wishy as we manipulate to pull the ball on line. I experience this, and I see it persist to the very top of the game. What's the fix?

This is the reason that coaches and parents go bonkers sometimes. This play at home left people baffled. The runner is rounding third and headed for home. The throw to the catcher gets there way ahead of time of the runner. The catcher catches the ball, waits for the runner and applies the tag. Easy out right? 💯 The umpire calls obstruction on the catcher and said he was obstructing the runner from scoring. The runner is safe! 🤯 That may be one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen on any level. The ball arrived so early that the catcher could have sat on home plate and had lunch waiting for that runner. If you have the ball you can be right there waiting to tag the runner when he comes in. What do you think? Obstruction or not? Was the catcher not giving the runner a fair path to home plate or was the umpire watching a game on another planet?

I know the #gurus love to brag about how far the players they work with are hitting the ball in the cage to promote themselves. Juan Soto is really good and this is what he’s working on.
