IDF combat engineers used over 30,000 cubic meters of concrete to seal the tunnel. The terror tunnel contained ~80 living quarters, serving as a Hamas command-and-control center used to plan and direct terrorist attacks. The tunnel entrance was located near the Philadelphi Corridor and ran beneath a residential neighborhood, mosques, kindergartens, schools, clinics, and a UNRWA clinic. Hamas continues to violate international law by using civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes.
