This is a little bit lengthy, but it needed to be explained. I hope that it provides enough context.

Thanks @mikeachimugu01 Your lengthy explanation is noted, but it misses the point entirely. Your job is not to defend airline policy or explain industry penalties. Your job is to protect Nigerians, especially when they are at their most vulnerable. Instead of doing that, you are speaking for EgyptAir while shifting suspicion onto Nigerians by suggesting the use of fake or dummy return tickets. That is reckless and unacceptable. In the middle of a live consumer complaint, you have painted Nigerians as potential abusers of the system. Damaging the credibility of innocent passengers and the very people your office exists to defend. Consumer protection is not about what might be justified. It is about confronting potential wrongdoing and standing firmly with the consumer, clearly and without bias. The only question that matters is this: Was this Nigerian treated fairly? If your response does not start and end there, then you are not doing your job.

Thanks Mr @mikeachimugu01 for the detailed explanation, I was also a bit surprised when she mentioned that her return ticket is via United Airlines, most likely that was the red flag that the Egypt Air picked, unless if she has US Visa and planned to visit US for few days then there after return via the United Airlines. We will await outcome of the investigation to understand better. Cheers 🥂

Thank you, sir.

@mikeachimugu01 If the likes of @airfrance @KLM can include a pop up on their website informing potential customers that they may need transit visas for their route. It’s not to much to ask Egypt air to provide this information about return tickets on their website

I will still say this, Egypt airline is the worst ever and they treat Nigerians like trash, my wife was flying out of Nigeria with a work visa and my son of 2 years, a visitor visa. They denied my son flight because of the visa. I will never in my entire life board Egypt airline

It is within your right, if disappointed with the quality of service rendered, to boycott any service provider. Apologies for your experience, please.

There is no need for apologies, it's not your fault. Thanks to what you have been doing to improve the quality of services being rendered to Nigerians. Kundus(kudos) to you. Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you for this detailed explanation sir

Thank you for this prompt update and response

You're highly incompetent, i won't go further because it will be very bad for you. Also, I'll add that your action is the reason foreigners don't respect Nigerians, even in Nigeria, because of people like you. You're supposed to side with the Nigerian first.

Why picking holes when you haven't confirmed that her return ticket was fake

I agree with you sir, but I think you shd investigate the operations of Egypt air. Particularly for non resident passengers. They don't operate the way other foreign airline do. They treat Nigerians badly, I have seen it first hand.

There is something special about this man, his calmness and choice of words are so impressive for me. We need more of him in public offices around the nation. I want to thank @fkeyamo for this one. Oga God bless you.

NCAA is on it. No poor treatment & exploitation will be condoned under the watch of @mikeachimugu01 I have experienced dis, airlines get heavy fines for inadmissible pax with inadequate docs.dese Rules are nt 2 frustrate you. Check immigration laws& Recheck airline policy.

love this detailed explanation ngl

Update:

Buttom line, airlines should also be advised to update these information on their website to avoid confusion

Thank you for this explanation. Logical.

this is really necessary

Good one from you sir 👏👏👏👏

God bless you sir. Thank you for all you do.

You’ve done well and your professionalism on this critical issue is well appreciated. I experienced a similar situation with this same airline that I’d love to bring to your attention. Please check your DM

Thank you so the englithment sir

Thank you very much for this information. If I may, sir, could you investigate the case of new Nigerian students being denied entry into Northern Cyprus at Istanbul airport?

Well spoken Brother. This is comprehensive and succinct. Let those who have ears, hear. We look forward to the complainant coming forward with the details. We look forward to the arrogant abusers and insulters EATING THEIR OWN SHIT. 🤣

I commend your effort overtime. I was having some reservations on your previous response on return tickets, as long it is verifiable and shows connectivity, but it's been addressed. Airlines should also verify this before denying we proud owners of the green passport boarding

Good one from you sir

@mikeachimugu01 I understand airlines try to protect their interests once a passenger has successfully entered the country and no longer need the return ticket. How is a $300 cancellation fee justified on a return ticket worth about ₦1.4m, only to receive ₦12,608 as a refund?

Same thng happened to me here in kano by egypt air during ramadan, i was made to cancel the umrah ticket to book another one with egypt as return while initially it was Saudi air as return

Weldone sir

Great update... Of course information is key. Thanks for your professionalism and prompt response to issues regarding customer satisfaction

Weldone sir.

Thanks @mikeachimugu01 for this detailed explanation.

A little bit of weight gain and you should be a little bit careful about the audio... It might be a bit unpleasant because of the wailing and a bit of farting ah, I hope it doesn't look too dark.
