It’s also not an entirely accurate explanation. It was upgraded to a “felony” because they said it was in furtherance of an underlying crime. An underlying crime they never charged him for. An underlying crime they told the jury they didn’t need to unanimously agree he committed, but rather they were told they could choose from a list of potential underlying crimes they thought he might be guilty of. An underlying crime he was never convicted of or proven to have committed. That’s how corrupt it was. He’s a felon, but only because he was cast that way. Not because justice was served.

I’ve never even gotten a clear answer on how, exactly, he was supposed to label that expense.

Also Cohen was actually skimming on other payments from Trump. Meaning he was telling trump the cost for someone to be paid was $60k more then it actually was. He pocketed the difference. He also told his lawyer he would say anything to stay out of jail. He would say what ever latisha wanted him to say. Cohen made the payment to stormy on his own. Then requested reimbursement after the fact. Trump didn't know what the payment was even for until after the election. The election commission already investigated and decided it wasn't a campaign finance issue. Trump has every right to pay hush money to a lying whore or even one telling the truth. He has the same right as anyone to protect his personal reputation. Period. It's not campaign financing. Especially when you don't even know it happened until after you are in office.

The worst part is even IF these "legal expenses" WERE labeled as "campaign expenses" they would have still charged him saying that they weren't campaign related. They created a double positive situation where they could charge him regardless of how he labeled the legal payments.
