This is a problem. Conflict of interest rules shouldn't be about protecting politicians from paying taxes. It should be about protecting the public from powerful politicians making decisions that benefit themselves & their friends. We need to change the law.

Consultants should be very worried about AI. Too many spend years advising businesses without ever making decisions of consequence themselves. Eventually, that becomes a problem.
