I know this makes me sound like the “get off my lawn” old man, but ‘86-96 was the greatest decade in modern music history. Hair metal was still thriving. Prime metallica, ACDC, GnR, Poison, prime Bon Jovi. Today’s rock bands will never hang w PJ, AiC, Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, or in their prime Metallica. I know there’s so many more. And that’s not touching the rap scene! Old school rap and hip hop absolutely drags it’s sack across the face of today’s auto-tunners. And country music? Was fucking great before TSwift and her clones douched it all up. I’ll die on this hill.

He was SO good.

So many greats lost from that time. Layne Staley was another

Still have the cd. STP baby. Velvet Revolver as well.

That’s official

Plush was one of my favorites growing up. Honorable Mentions: Big Empty and Interstate Love Song

Pure 90s dopamine

The Crow soundtrack got me hooked on Big Empty, and it was off to the races from there. Late 80s through EARLY 2000s was the golden age.

I’ve been working on the bass part of this song. It’s a fun one to play along with, as is Creep.

Their entire MTV Unplugged set was pretty good. I saw STP live in the mid-90s in Ottawa with the Mighty Mighty Bosstones as their opener... Good show. Weiland had an incredible set of pipes, it's a pity he couldn't get and stay clean... same with Layne Staley.
