I once asked a random cyclist to do a similar task, to keep a gate open and hold the lane. To 250 dairy cows ! .,He did it brilliantly 👍

I ended up looking after two horses after one of them threw their rider and the other called paramedics.

The calm , halt there beasts , calmer than me with my own cows 😂 he did so well !

There were reports that a number of cows later made complaints of a cyclist holding them up in the road, but these are unsubstantiated.

The cows have only stopped because they have never seen a cyclist in the wild. 🤣🤣🤣

They would have gone in gate but saw you. One thing cows are is nosey!!

Not on a bike ride, but I was driving to work one day and I saw a woman on the floor and a horse running away from her, straight towards the very busy A5. I managed to get past it, stop my car and do pretty much the same thing, getting it to stop while she ran up to us.

I chased after 2 cows for a local farmer after they bolted going through a gate, the cows ran down the verge, I cycled past them on the road, got far enough ahead then pulled in front and stopped them. The farmer was grateful as his quad was stuck in the field

Once upon a time people in the countryside wouldn't think moving cows was strange they would help.
