This is absolutely terrifying. I don’t know if it’s possible for some people to evacuate at this point. Praying for #asheville #lakeluredam #lakelure #helene #ncwx

I mean the cone path was accurately predicted Sunday night/Monday AM morning. Too late to evacuate now. But these people have had 4 full days of accurate weather report warning. Literally this was the cone path for a week plus now. And it stayed true to the path.

A lot of people are stubborn. “We’ve gone through this before, it’ll be fine.” Also difficult to say what people cannot evac based on medical issues (on oxygen, etc). I wish more people would listen when being told to get out.

I was in a flood in 2007, in Oregon. I lived across from a river. We had 5-6 feet of water in our home. We stayed all night on the second floor of our house. The only time I tried to leave the house during the flood was because my elderly neighbor was crying and screaming. The dog next to her was chained up. She was attached to being able to visit that dog every day. The dog's owner was a local truck driver and did not make it back before the flooding. The dog was on a chain yelping and swimming. She begged us to do something. I went down to the first floor with a headlamp and started to swim. I went out my front door. I then was in my front yard trying to swim to the neighbors to get that dog. The water was freezing and I was fighting the current. I got halfway to the dog and could not make it. I let the current take me back to my house and then fought the current crossways to get to the door. I was so sad I did not make it to the dog because it meant so much to her. The dog yelped and barked for hours and finally around midnight the dog drowned. I do admit that putting my life in danger was not the best thing to do, but I knew that dog was important. We stayed upstairs all night until the National Guard came to rescue us.

This was really hard to read 😔

Beware of Hurricane Alligators

Okay, this is insane. This is like I was saying you have no idea what’s in the water. But I was thinking downloaded lines - not gators too! 😳

After watching this video, I’ve decided that if I ever buy a home, I’m also getting a boat. Something big enough to fit my family, some supplies, and survival gear, just in case. Gotta be prepared for anything these days.

@AIHumanDisguse Not a bad idea, honestly. As long as the boat isn’t carried away down the street before you can board it.

🙏🙏 that the dam holds!

Thomas, this footage is WITHOUT dam failure, isn’t it? This is a freaking catastrophe and if it fails.. I don’t even want to imagine. Prayers are absolutely needed for all of these people
