My jaw dropped watching this Dunkin Donuts employee “I had to make this coffee twice — he ordered a large iced coffee with 23 sugar, 12 mocha, 4 caramel, and 5 cream” Because this is so insane I looked up how much sugar is in this one drink ordered by an American, it comes out to about 180+ grams of added sugar Just for reference this is approximately 18 Krispy Kreme donuts in one drink I am a firm believer we need a limit in America. There has to be a point where it’s illegal to put so much unhealthy ingredients in one item and sell it as food We have to stop this and Make America Healthy Again

We all know excess sugar is harmful, but there is one ingredient which Indians consume daily which is even worse than sugar! . . . Maltodextrin. The glycemic Index (GI) for table sugar is 65 whereas maltodextrin is 110. The glycemic index (GI) measures how fast a particular food/drink spikes your blood sugar. So the higher the glycemic index, the bigger the blood sugar spike. The more shocking part is that maltodextrin isn’t technically counted as “added sugar” according to FSSAI. Many Indian packaged foods take advantage of this and claim to be “no added sugar” but they have maltodextrin in it. In fact, even baby products like Nestle Cerelac have maltodextrin. Maltodextrin is present in many ultra-processed foods (UPFs) and a diet high in ultra-processed foods is linked to weight-gain, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. In this video, I have highlighted some products that have maltodextrin and how to avoid these products! Share if you found this useful.

For example, block and barrel which is a Sysco branded item, is all Smithfield, and every distributor, including grocery stores, carries these items, US foods puts in Monogram boxes, PFG into Roma, and so on. Now a big thing is the frozen foods side of it, sure Sysco has a lot of frozen foods that technically every restaurant can use, but your good restaurants aren’t using those items, besides fries
